exi is currently working at WTEN as a breaking news reporter. An integral part of the morning news team, she is typically delivering live reports anywhere from 5-10 times per day, and turns at least one pkg every day for the station’s later shows. Lexi has covered everything from deadly fires to NYS Supreme Court trials, and occasionally finds herself waist deep in flood waters or testing out the local police station’s latest SWAT team gear.
Lexi joined the WTEN team right out of college. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Villanova University where she earned degrees in both Journalism and Economics. During her undergraduate years, she worked as a Jr. Reporter for FOX29 in Philadelphia. This experience allowed her the unique opportunity to train in the #4 news market and learn from some of the industry’s very best. At FOX29, she made regular, live appearances on the station’s weekend morning show, fronting her own MMJ stories in-studio, and occasionally appearing on the anchor desk to chat about her work or assist with interviews.
During the summers Lexi also kept busy, interning in newsrooms at NY1 News and Bloomberg News in Manhattan. At Bloomberg, Lexi reported on financial markets and economic trends as part of the Mergers & Acquisitions team. Here she helped cover the Verizon/Yahoo! Merger, Initial Public Offering Announcements from companies like JPMorgan, and reported as international markets reacted to the historic “Brexit.” You can access an archive of Lexi’s work at Bloomberg by clicking HERE.
Years of working in newsrooms has made her proficient with multiple editing softwares including Premiere Pro, Dalet, Edius, ENPS, and Final Cut. She is also very comfortable with live interviews/thumbsuckers, and same-day turnarounds for full-length stories.
She frequently coordinates and manages numerous stories at the same time and can shoot and edit quickly and efficiently. Some of her work has attained 10,000+ web hits, and multiple social media engagements.
Lexi plans to pursue a career in television news as an anchor or reporter. Working on-air in top news markets and in multiple newsrooms helped her to cultivate skills in fast-paced, professional work environments.
She is extremely responsive to all types of feedback, she works meticulously even under time crunches to produce high-quality work. Lexi’s passion for visual storytelling stems from a curiosity about the world around her and a love of language and public speaking.
She is deeply fascinated with people and communities, and strives to stay connected to any community she inhabits through numerous social media platforms. She believes that her determination to seek information and connect with people married with her experience in writing (editorially and for television), shooting, and editing, has prepared her for an exciting professional career.
In her free time, Lexi enjoys playing golf, going to spin classes, and playing with her toy poodle, “Muffin.” She also loves drinking copious amounts of coffee and thinks she was a food critic in another life.
